Angina is a condition characterised by chest pain or discomfort that occurs when the heart muscle does not receive enough oxygen-rich blood. Heart attack, on the other hand, occurs when the blood supply to the heart muscle is completely blocked, leading to damage or death of the heart muscle.
The treatment for chest pain depends on the underlying cause. In the case of angina, treatment may include medications to improve blood flow to the heart. Lifestyle changes, such as quitting smoking, eating a healthy diet, and exercising regularly, can also help reduce symptoms of angina. In the case of a heart attack, immediate treatment is necessary to prevent further damage to the heart muscle. This may include medication and procedures such as angioplasty or coronary artery bypass surgery.
Recovery may vary from patient to patient depending on overall health and severity of the condition. The doctor advises certain lifestyle changes to reduce their risk of future heart problems, including maintaining a healthy weight, managing stress, and quitting smoking. Regular exercise and a healthy diet can also help improve heart health and reduce the risk of future heart problems.
